The Ministry of Justice in the US has blacklisted 180 GCC citizens for forging degree certificates, reports Al-Shahid daily.
In a story published by The Spokesman Review, an American daily, 10,000 persons - including the 180 GCC nationals - were blacklisted for forging certificates in a shop in Washington. Among the blacklisted, 15 people are Kuwaitis, 69 are from Saudi Arabia, 68 from UAE, 13 from the Sultanate of Oman and 12 from Bahrain. The shop charged hefty sums of money to forge certificates, including a charge of US $8,000 for a doctorate certificate. The daily said around 300 Americans have been named in the list, adding that the Ministry of Justice intends to take legal action against many of the guilty persons. It is, however, not clear whether lawsuits will be filed against GCC citizens.
