An employee has the right to transfer his residence before the stipulated three year period without the consent of his sponsor if he has not been treated well, reports Al-Shahid daily quoting reliable sources from the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor. This right can be availed of if the sponsor has increased the employee’s working hours without a rise in pay, if the monthly salary is not deposited in the bank on time or if the employee’s pay has been slashed without his approval. Other violations have also been cited that terminate the contract signed by both parties under Article 18.
If an employee is victim to any of the violations, he can register a complaint at the Labor Department in the Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, mentioning the conditions that led to the termination of the contract, and submit a request for the transfer of residence.
