Kuwait's Ministry of Health said on Monday it was taking all proper preparations for the imminent academic year amid efforts to contain swine flu outbreak in the country.
Speaking to reporters following a coordinative meeting between the ministries of health and education on concerted arrangements for the new school year, Undersecretary of the Ministry of Health Ibrahim al-Abdel-Hadi stressed the significance of stepping up preventive efforts to contain the disease. The number of swine flu cases is on the wane thanks to preventive plans and preventive and media awareness, he added. Some 120 school clinics have been equipped in the country as part of attempts to contain the disease, he noted. The Ministry of Education has delayed classes for kindergartens and schools for people with special needs in line with WHO recommendations.
