The cabinet reportedly approved the project to establish a new power plant in the Zour area during its latest meeting.
The cabinet's endorsement of the project came after the cabinet members studied the recommendations presented by Minister of Electricity and Water Dr. Bader Al-Shuraiaan, in which he emphasized the need for the plant. Among the other issues discussed during the recent cabinet meeting were the Kuwait Fire Services Directorate's report on the Jahra wedding tent fire tragedy and the details of the procedures necessary to resolve the Mishref sewage plant crisis, reported Al-Qabas. On the subject of the sewage plant's recent problems, the government has issued a directive to the bodies involved, ordering them to control potential environmental pollution and bring a prompt end to the crisis.
