Officials said the media coordinator from the Medical Emergency Administration, Abdulaziz Bu Hamid, said that medical cases treated at the Grand Mosqu
e on the fifth day of Qiyam prayers numbered some 65 cases. All were treated at clinics and none were taken to hospital. Medical clinics dealt with 259 cases, two of which were taken to hospital, officials said. Most patients were suffered from high blood pressure, diabetes, headaches and breathing problems. A number of children were also treated. Medical personnel called on worshippers to not bring their children with them to prayers because the close proximity of people inside mosques facilitates the passing of contagious diseases. The medical personnel also called on worshippers to wear medical face masks in order to protect themselves from swine flu.
