The Ministry of Education's (MoE) private education department is to issue its final decision within the next few days over what should be done about the kindergartens
which disregarded the cabinet's instructions to postpone the start of the school year, opening their doors to pupils in violation of the ministry's directive. Mohammed Al-Dahis, the private education department's head, revealed the ministry's intention to issue its decision shortly while attending the first day of the ministry's receiving applications from young bedoon (stateless) people applying for charitable funds to finance the teaching of needy students. He also revealed that the ministry is set to announce its assessment of what action should be taken concerning students' high school certificates issued by schools in Saudi Arabia, Jordan and Egypt, which the education ministry has yet to verify, saying that the announcement would be made by the end of this week. Meanwhile, Faisal Al-Bassam, the head of the Civil Service Commission's manpower registration department, announced that 577 teachers have been selected to work at state schools, reported Al-Qabas. The teachers in question registered with the ministry through the auto-registration system following the announcement that applications were being accepted for a brief period to fill teaching staff vacancies. Al-Bassam explained that the cut-off date for applications fell last week, adding that his department wi ll be accepting applications for employment with the MoE or any other government bodies again from September 25.
