There is no need for the closure of all schools and it is preferable to continue the school year plan unchanged
while taking the recommended precautionary measures against the spread of swine flu, the World Health Organization (WHO) said on Wednesday. The announcement was done after the conclusion of the twoـday meetings of the WHO''s Regional Office for the Eastern Mediterranean, in which Kuwait was represented by Assistant Education Undersecretary for Educational Development Bader AlـFraih and Musaab AlـSaleh of the Health Ministry. The world body urged governments to implement measures such as isolating those diagnosed with the A(H1N1) virus and closing individual schools whenever necessary. The body also recommended implementing awareness campaigns at schools and educational institutions in coordination with the Ministry of Health in the country concerned. The officials expressed satisfaction with the measures implemented by the ministries of Education and Health in Kuwait over the last two months which were already in high conformity with the WHO''s recommendations.
