Kuwait airport witnesses increase in flight, passenger traffic during August |

The Civil Aviation Authority said on Thursday that the number of flights increased by six percent, commercial flights by 33 percent
, cargo by 41 percent from and to Kuwait International Airport during August. Nonـcommercial flights dropped by 33 percent, the total number of passengers during the past month reached 840,000 passengers the Civil Aviation Authority said in a statement. Passengers'' arrivals traffic jumped to 487,980 passengers in August, a nine percent increase, whereas departures recorded 332,194 passengers an in crease of three percent in comparison to the same period last year. As for flight traffic from and to Kuwait International Airport, the Civil Aviation Authority said that during August a 17 percent increase was witnessed in flight traffic recording 8,852 flights in comparison to 7,589 flights in 2008. It added, number of flights had increased in August due to the end of the summer vacations as travelers return back home, in addition to spending the Holy month of Ramadan in the homeland.
