| Kuwait class attendance hits 90% on 1st day |

On the first day of the 2009ـ2010 academic year in Kuwait, 90 percent of secondary students have attended classes, the Minister of Education and Higher Education Moudi AlـHomoud said Sunday
. "The 10 percent absence is only due to interـschool shifts or student health control," the minister told reporters while making an inspection tour of some public secondary schools. She expected attendance would be complete on Monday, hailing the first day of the school year as "good."
