The Ministry of Education has officially begun the implementation of an earlier decision to admit the children of the ministry''s nonـKuwaiti employees in public schools
at all levels. It has slated the dates Nov. 1ـ12 of the current year, as an extra period to receive applications from parents who intend to get their children enrolled in kindergartens. The ministry also began the implementation of a decision that calls for the reopening of KG2 only for the American system, bilingual schools and preـprimary stage of the British system. Earlier on, the Ministry of Education''s Undersecretary Tamadhur AlـSedairawi issued a decision ordering the admission of children of the ministry''s nonـKuwaiti employees in various stages of the public education system. Also, the Assistant Undersecretary for Public Education Muna AlـLogani issued a decision specifying a deadline for receiving the applications from parents who want to get their children admitted to kindergartens. She said that "parents will be received as of next Sunday until Nov. 12," adding that "no applications will be entertained after that period." On the other hand, the Assistant Undersecretary for Private Education Fahd AlـGhais said that the ministry had agreed to the idea of reopening KG2s but only if they operate on the American system as well as bilingual schools. The official urged all concerned private schools to comply with these instructions, adding that "failure to do so would prompt legal measures against the foreign schools found in violation of the ministry''s instructions to this effect."
