Kuwait University hosts 90 percent of students 1st day |

Students' turnout at Kuwait University on first day of the 2009 semester on Sunday exceeded 90 percent, said Head of the Public Relations and Media Department of the KU Faisal Maqseed.
In a press release, Maqseed said no cases of swine flu were registered during the first day of the new academic year, noting that clinics' staff were prepared to treat any case. On his behalf, Khaled Al-Yaqout, the Director of Security and Safety at the KU, said full preperations were taken to combat the disease, to ensure safety of students, KU workers as well adminstration members. He said the department staff held meetings with faculty and other staff members as part of preperations to begin the fall semester smoothly, in addition to the distribution of tasks. Moreover, Al-Yaqout said 7,000 student IDs had been issued, adding that schedules would be handed over to freshmans. Moreover, posters and brochures were distributed all over different campuses on awarness guidelines against H1N1 disease.
