Fear of being infected with the swine flu virus affected the habits of many people, including barbershops' clients.
Ibrahim Aburaihan, an employee at a barbershop, told KUNA that he noticed recently that his clients became very concerned with the cleanliness of the barbershop in general, and the shaving tools in particular. Many clients brought their own shaving tools with them to the barbershop recently, he added. Meanwhile, Hilal Abdullah, an employee at another barbershop, said that some of his clients brought their own shavers, soap, and towels with them to the barbershop, adding that some even brought their own chairs. He said a large number of clients make sure the barbershop's employees used hand sterilizers before they start their work, adding that many employees already do that even if before clients ask them to. On his part, Mahmoud Muhammad said that some of his clients, who he used to see daily, did not visit his barbershop for a while because of their fear of swine flu. However, other clients trust the measures taken in the barbershop to prevent the spread of the virus and continue coming to the barbershop, he noted. A total of 2,881 swine flu cases were registered in Kuwait since April. Ninety nine of those infected recovered, while nine people died because of the virus according to the latest statistics of the Health Ministry.
