43rd Handball League kicks off in Kuwait |

The 43rd Handball League competition began Tuesday with two matches with Salmiya beating Shabab 29-28, and Qadsiya equalizing with Yarmouk 23-23.
In the first game, Salmiya and Shabab gave it all to win the match with the first half ending for Shabab 12-10.
However, Salmiya turned the table on Shabab in the second half and won the game and the three points.
In the second match up, Qadsiya and Yarmouk tried their best to overcome each other but both teams couldn't secure the win and settled for the draw.
The first Handball League began in 1966 with eight teams out of the 14 league participants winning the ultimate trophy.
Salmiya won the league 11 times followed by Al-Arabi, nine times, Kazma, six times, Qadsiya and Sulaibikhat, five times each, while Khaitan, Kuwait in addition to Fahaheel won the trophy two times each.
