Contenders for the His Highness Sheikh Salem Al-Ali Al-Sabah Informatics Award should fill out forms available on the award website
to join the new season's contest, the organizing head said. During a press conference held at KUNA headquarters on Monday, Khalil Abul, said that contestants can apply for the new contest by filling out the e-form. The registration deadline is Jan 31. A group of jurists will be chosen to select the winners of the KD 100,000 award which was launched in 2001 with the aim of encouraging technological education in Kuwait and the Arab world, he said. Sponsorship of the award by His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah Al-Ahmad Al-Jaber Al-Sabah over the past three years reflected His Highness' personal concern in the development of Kuwait and the Arab world in general. The award is being granted to Kuwaiti citizens and others, corporations and other institutions. Later, the award coordinator for media and public relations, Hassan Al-Himadi, indicated that the award would be granted in the new contest to individuals, companies, private establishments, ventures, ministries, government departments, private and public schools and educational projects. It will be also granted to projects and establishments in the health, media, communication and cultural sectors. Winners in these domains will be given KD 3,000-4,000.
