AACHEN, Germany, Oct 10 (KUNA) -- Visiting Kuwaiti Minister of Health Hilal Al-Sayer said on Saturday Kuwaiti doctors would be trained at the world-famous Aachen University Clinic.
The move aims to make use of German medical experience involving all specialties, the minister told KUNA. He hailed the Aachen University Clinic for using high technology in performing various surgical operations. The minister added that Kuwait would use the help of German doctors in order to conduct some complicated surgeries and train national doctors in the country. Earlier on Saturday, the Kuwaiti health minister signed a memorandum of understanding (MoU) at the North Rhine-Westphalia state with his German counterpart Walter Dellinger to cooperate together on all health levels. Extolling the MoU, the minister said the joint medical document would contribute to developing and bolstering medical relations between Kuwait and Germany, and to tapping German experience in the improvement of medical services in Kuwait. The Kuwaiti minister is visiting Germany at the top of an official delegation including Assistant Undersecretary for Health Services and Support Qais Al-Duweiry and Director of the treatment abroad Mohammad Al-Mashan. During his three-day stay in Germany, the minister will visit several German hospitals and clinics and medical colleges. For his part, Al-Duweiry said there would be cooperation between Kuwait and the German state of North Rhine-Westphalia in several fields, including medicine, education and health services. He quoted German officials as voicing full readiness to provide Kuwait with all possible health facilities. He said his country was seeking to tap German medical experience in overhauling its health services, to share visits and send Kuwaiti doctors to German clinics for training.
