Assistant Undersecretary of the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor Mansour Al-Mansour said Tuesday evening the computerized system would replace the paperwork in the ministry's service divisions.
"The system will go operational on parallel lines with the old system at the labor sector of the ministry as of Sunday for a month renewable only once, " Al-Mansour told reporters here. "The system, to be introduced to the ministry for the first time, will allow issuance of entry permits and transfer or renewal of residence to foreign workers without recourse to the Ministry of Interior," he revealed. The experimental operation of the system will last for two months at most, after which the ministry will not handle files of applicants whether employers or employees under the old system. Al-Mansour asked all applicants to take advantage of the period in updating their files in order to benefit from the electronic system which will end numerous loopholes and save much time and effort.
