The Kuwaiti Interior Ministry's Security Monitoring Patrols have been developed pursuant to persistent and careful studies and research, a senior ministry official said here Wednesday.
Speaking to reports, Interior Ministry's Assistant Undersecretary for Information Technology and Communication Sheikh Meshaal Al-Jaber Al-Sabah hailed the patrols as "smart patrols" thanks to its unprecedented potential and highly updated traffic control system. Equipped with modern monitoring systems, security patrols can do several tasks at the same time, he said, adding that they would also be provided with radars and monitoring cameras. A patrol vehicle can monitor 50 number plates within just one second and at diverse distances by day and at night, the security official boasted. This all-out provision is chiefly intended to maintain law and order and to monitor recklessness and carelessness on roads, he remarked. He quoted His Highness Prime Minister Sheikh Nasser Al-Mohammad Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah as praising the development of security monitoring patrols, saying this great appreciation would be an impetus for everyone to achieve more successes within the framework of the development process. - Kuna
