Unemployment rate in Kuwait remarkably fell by 15. 3 percent in April 2009
, taking the total number of unemployed people down to 16,304 from 19,248 in April 2008, according to a recent report.
Joblessness rates accounted for 5.7 percent of Kuwait's total national labor force in April 2009, Kuwait Central Statistics Office Chairperson Hussa al-Jenahi told KUNA, citing the report on unemployment in Kuwait.
Jobless males outnumbered jobless females by 2,466 or 15.1 percent to 84.9 percent, she said.
Unemployment rate affecting university graduates hit only 1.4 percent. Unemployed people under 30 make up 44.4 percent, while those under 40 constitute 68.5 percent, al-Jenahi added. - Kuna
