Kuwaiti environmental activists will organize next Saturday a day to spread awareness on climate change in shopping malls, said the British Council in Kuwait on Wednesday.
The council's project director Tony Skinner said that the day, sponsored by the council, will be called "350", referring to the percentage of target carbon emission, he said. He pointed out that the event is organized by a group of Kuwaiti youth which consists of Ahmad Al-Hasan, Ahmad Al-Muqahwi, Abdulaziz Abdulraheem, Alia Al-Sha'lan, and Ameera Al-Sha'lan. The group had attended a workshop in Qatar, from October 12 to 14, which was held by the British Council on the sidelines of the second Middle East meeting in the global climate, he added. Meanwhile, regional manager of the council's program on climate change in the Middle East Sarah May said that climate change affected all generations. However, the youth will suffer the most of its effects for several decades, she noted. - Kuna
