Jahra municipality conducts raid |

The Jahra municipality conducted inspections at restaurants, cafes, raided illegal road side car sales and removed illegal ads that were erected along streets recently.
Abdullah Al-Ali, the Jahra Municipality branch director said the rules were being enforced without exception and that the inspections were carried out upon the instructions of Dr Fadhel Safar, Minister for Municipal Affairs, and Ahmad Al-Subai, Municipality Director. Engineer Al-Ali said that the municipal campaign began at the Jah ra governorate at 9 am and lasted for four hours. As a result of the campaign, two restaurants were shut down and 20 citations were issued Abdullah Al-Shimmary, Head of the campaign said that some food joints and cafes in Jahra and industrial areas were raided. This is in order to verify if restaurant owners were complying with rules and regulations that were applied by the Municipality. The inspection team pointed at some offenses, and legal action was taken against those restaurants. He added, "Before we close the joint, we allow the owner or the person working there sufficient time to get to collect their belongings and leave . We seal the premises using red wax and give the key to the owner who signs an acknowledgement document. And with that he becomes responsible according to law, if the poster is removed. The twenty citations were issued to a host of irregularities detected like failure to produce ministry -issued health certificates or expired ones and selling food items that are unfit for human consumption. - Kuwait Times
