Yemeni Health Minister Dr. Abdel Karim Rasea praised on Saturday humanitarian aid that has been offered by Kuwait for Yemeni civilians fleeing the war zones in the northern regions.
Rasea, speaking during the handover of the Kuwaiti relief aid, affirmed that Kuwait has always extended a generous hand for those in need, noting that the delivery of the Kuwaiti assistance constitutes anew evidence of the solidarity between the Kuwaiti and Yemeni peoples. He praised His Highness the Amir Sheikh Sabah AlÙ€Ahmad AlÙ€Sabah for ordering a speedy dispatch of the humanitarian supplies to the country. He also hailed in this regard efforts that had been exerted by the Kuwaiti Ambassador in Sanaa, Ghassab AlÙ€Zamanan. The latter, in remarks to Kuwait News Agency (KUNA), said the convoy of Kuwaiti supplies came to the country in line with orders from His Highness the Amir, and to demonstrate Kuwait''s commitment of solidarity with the people of Yemen. A new batch of Kuwaiti relief supplies will arrive in the country within the coming days, AlÙ€Zamanan noted. Musaed AlÙ€Enezi, head of the Kuwaiti Red Crescent Society in Yemen, told KUNA the supplies were handed over to officials of the Yemeni Health Ministry, adding that a team of the society in coordination with the Yemeni Red Crescent would hand over the items to civilians in Saadah, Omaran, Hajjah and Jof. The first batch of Kuwaiti aid supplies was sent in a 10Ù€truck convoy, he said in remarks to KUNA, noting that they included tents, food and various other items.
