Kuwait needs female and male volunteers to contribute to the development of the society, said Chairman of Kuwait Red Crescent Society (KRCS) Barjas Al-Barjas.
Speaking Thursday evening at the closing ceremony of a training course on first aid during armed conflicts, Al-Barjas emphasized the importance of spreading the word on the importance of volunteer work in schools, ministries, parks, universities, institutes, and other places. He expressed gratitude to the representatives of the International Committee of the Red Cross (ICRC) who took part in organizing the training course. On his part, deputy regional commissioner of the Red Cross Muayed Al-Kalabi said training courses were an opportunity to exchange expertise. Meanwhile, chief of the KRCS's disaster and emergency department Yousif Al-Meraj said the course aimed at preparing the society's members for dealing with disasters, whether in Kuwait or abroad. - Kuna
