Public Works Ministry completes first phase of Subbiyah Causeway |

The Ministry of Public Works has successfully completed the first phase of the revamp of the Subbiyah Causeway, at a cost of KD 29 million.
Director of the ministry's highway laying department, Ahmad Al-Bahar, told KUNA that the project comprises five bridges at a total length of 23.3 kilometers, with three lanes in each direction. The project also includes rainwater manholes, as well as communications and electricity pipelines, which he said were laid in cooperation with Kuwait Oil Company (KOC). Lighting, bridges, traffic signs and greenery are all in place, Al-Bahar said. As for phase, which will be completed in two weeks, he explained that involved 22 kilometers at a cost of KD 22.5 million. This causeway is expected to witness greater traffic with the establishment of Subbiyah City, as well as trucks traveling to and from Boubyan Port. - Kuna
