The interior ministry is taking all necessary precautions in preparation for the rain season, the ministry security information department said on Sunday.
The ministry has mobilized all its technical and human potentials and resources in preparation for the rainfall, in line with instructions by the senior leaders and in coordination with other government departments, it said in a statement. The coordination involves various authorities, including the public security, the central general-directorate for operations, the traffic, civil defense and patrols departments. The ministry staff will be ready to respond promptly to any calls for help on the 112 telephone number, it said. The ministry had worked out a media and awareness campaign for the rain season, it said, advising motorists against overloading their vehicles, abrupt pull-over on the roads and urged for regular maintenance of the cars. Motorists should give way to ambulances and firemen speeding to or from scenes of accidents. - Kuna
