The Kuwaiti Ministry of Information said on Saturday that it had used all its potential to ensure the success of the 34th Kuwait International Book Fair.
Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Sabah is keen on backing and following up such cultural activities, the ministry's press section chief, Fahad Al-Ajmi, told KUNA. The fair, to conclude tonight, plays a positive role in the dissemination of culture, science and knowledge and inculcation of value of reading into the minds of children and youth, he said. He hailed the fair as an opportunity to boost public awareness, science and enlightened thought that could contribute to the promotion of Arab issues and dissemination of creative works. Dismissing reports on an alleged ban on some books, the official affirmed the ministry was keen on allowing all books written by great thinkers and writers to be displayed at the fair. - Kuna
