Kuwait, India ties deep-rooted -- Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah |

The Minister of Oil and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah Al-Ahmad Al-Sabah attended the opening ceremony of the Cultural Festival
of India on Sunday evening and stated that Kuwait and India enjoy deep-rooted relations. The one-week festival titled (Mirror of India) is to last till November 14 and it is co-organized by the National Council of Culture, Arts, and Letters (NCCAL) and the Indian Embassy. The festival comes within the framework of the cultural exchange agreement between India and Kuwait for 2009-2011, which was inked when the Indian Vice President visited Kuwait in April. Indian Ambassador to Kuwait Ajai Malhotra said the festival aims to spread awareness on India's rich and vibrant culture which dates back as far as 5,000 years, thus promoting tourism in the process. Famous Indian artists from different parts of India will present showcase artistry in folk dance, arts, and calligraphy events. Malhotra thanked the Minister of Oil and Minister of Information Sheikh Ahmad Al-Abdullah and the NCCAL Chairman, Bader Al-Rfaei, for their interest in and help with coordination and preparation for the event. - Kuna
