Kuwait donates more than USD one million to UN activities |

Kuwait announced Monday evening its donation of more than USD one million to the different UN developmental activities for 2010.
The announcement was made by member of Kuwait's Permanent Mission to the UN, Consul Yaqoub Al-Sanad, who said that his country's contributions came despite the global economic crisis, adding that such acts stemmed from its ethical commitment and its belief in the importance of supporting development around the world, through UN organizations. Kuwait's donation to the UN Development Programme (UNDP) came to USD 570, 000, with another USD 200,000 to the UN Children's Fund (UNICEF), USD 200,000 to the UN Environment Programme (UNEP), USD 50,000 to the Central Emergency Response Fund (CERF), USD 20,000 to the UN Institute for Training and Research (UNITAR), USD 20,000 to the UN Development Fund for Women (UNIFEM), USD 10,000 to the UN Voluntary Fund for Victims of Torture (UNVET), USD 10,000 to the UN Population Fund (UNFPA), and USD 5,000 to the UN International Drug Control Programme (UNDCP). - Kuna
