Resolving labor disputes key issue for Kuwait state -- official |

Settling labor disputes and questions is a key issue for the Kuwaiti Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, a ministry official affirms.
Assistant Undersecretary of work affairs department at Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, Mansour Al-Mansour, emphasized on Sunday that the issue of resolving labor disputes is of great importance to the ministry. In a statement to KUNA, Al-Mansour said, on sidelines of a training course for specialists in labor disputes, that settling these problems is important because they greatly affect the labor market. Al-Mansour said, "the labor sector is an important sector in our ministry, and workers' attaining of their rights is also crutial and is one of our priorities." He thanked Director General of the Labor Inspection in Tunisia Kamal Omran and Mahmmad Bashou, the director of the the Center for the Department of Labor and Employment in Tunisia, an affiliate of the Arab Labor Organization, for their participation in the training course to benefit from the Tunisian experience. Meanwhile, Omran told KUNA that the participation in today's session is intended to provide the Tunisian experience for the prevention of the occurrence of such conflicts in the world of work. Omran said, the Tunisians are seeking to unify the ways of intervening in the world of work "and exchange of experience and expertise for the good of our institutions and our workers. The Tunisians have solutions for such conflicts, due to the proximity of the country and close links to Europe, where the natives have significant experience in establishment and work of trade and labor unions and institutions. For his part, Bashou told KUNA that their center is holding courses in various areas of work for staff from various Arab countries. He indicated that participants are discussing various topics, in shadow of profound and rapid changes, namely globalization and impact of economic crisis on the labor market. Bashou wished the session would conclude with recommendations intended to improve further working relations. The three-day training course, organized by Ministry of Social Affairs and Labor, kicked off earlier on Sunday. - Kuna
