Meteoroligist Issa Ramadan said on Tuesday temperature would drop to 10 degrees celsius in some areas of the country at dawn on Wednesday.
In a statement to KUNA, Ramadan said the country is affected by decrease in temperature in the northern Arabian Peninsula. The weather is distinguished with northwesterly winds, moderate to brisk, raising dust in desert areas, with a chance of rain in the northern border regions. A cold current is expected to cross the country later on Tuesday night, accompanied by cold winds, that would decrease the temperature significantly at dawn on Wednesday. The wind turns northwesterly, moderate to active, with the opportunity to stir up dust in the desert areas, in particular. Dust storms will taper off on Wednesday evening, with a significant decrease in temperature, which requires wearing winter clothing at night. Highest temperature will reach 24 degrees celcius day-time, and around 10 degrees celcius at night-time in the desert and open areas. In the city area, it might reach less than 17 degrees celcius. The country, these days, experiences scarcity of rain with the movement of wind north of the Arabian Peninsula, but rain will fall heavily on parts of Iraq, Iran and the Levant. The country expects rain next week, with continued low temperature. Therefore, winter clothing is preferred in the days of Eid Al-Adha. - Kuna
