Kuwaiti artist Amira Ashkanani on Sunday held her first figurative art gallery under the patronage of Undersecretary of the Ministry of Information Sheikh Feisal Al-Malek Al-Sabah.
The gallery, titled "Skin of Essence," reaffirms artistic values that, in its turn, enrich the visual culture of those concerned with figurative arts, Ashkanani told KUNA. The week-long gallery, taking place at headquarters of the Kuwaiti Society for Figurative Arts, is the first solo one for Ashkanani. The artist has been taking part in a number of galleries along with other artists in Kuwait and abroad. Theme of the 31 collage and acrylic paintings of the gallery is all inspired by women interests, especially in beauty and motherhood, as the paintings mainly focus on facial expressions. - Kuna
