Kuwaiti swimmer makes new world record in 100-m freestyle |

Kuwaiti swimmer Abdullah Al-Thuwaini succeeded in making a new world record for the 100-meter freestyle
at the ongoing World School Games in Qatar with a time of 50.12 seconds. Secretary of the Kuwait Swimming Federation Hussein Al-Msallam told KUNA Wednesday the swimmer beat competitors from Australia, the US, and Europe. He added the champion first repeated the previous world record of 51.02 seconds to later achieve the new feat, particularly gaining in the last 50 meters. Al-Msallam dedicated the victory to the Kuwaiti leadership and sports officials and family expressing hope Kuwaitis would achieve more accomplishments in other sports. - Kuna
